Nothing worthy of note this week but we did want to introduce our February Happy Hour guest at the very least…
We finally roped in our good friend Le Shrub to join us to chat macro and dive into an interactive Q&A with KEDM community. Shrub is an O.G. KEDM’er having been one of the first legacy users. Now he is off building Shrubstack and one of the few traders we talk to consistently and respect. He doesn’t need much of an intro but is one of the more pragmatic traders out there, able to cut through the noise, pivot on a dime and sum it all up in a meme or zinger…a rare skill. We are excited to get his updated thoughts on the Gloden Age of Grift, EU stocks, China, Brazil, platinum, and even some biotech!! Going to be a wide range of topics and should be a ton of fun….
We’ll drop an invite next week but in the meantime, mark your calendars for February 28th at 4:15pm EST and start prepping your questions!!

Turning briefly to an inflection, we are not going to dive in here yet, but one chart of note that popped back up on our inflection blotter is that of ferts…
Fert Index
This is inherently a weather/ag trade with a sidecar of geopolitical, and overall, they are simply sh*t businesses, but every few years we get a tradeable cycle here. After falling 60% from the highs with a decent base forming we decided to throw an analyst back on the scent and will get back after we kick some tires. We’ll also try roping in Josh Linville (2nd time is a charm…) to dive into the topic with us later this month as well. Worth reading through Paulo’s piece called “Friends Don’t Let Friends Gamble on the Weather” which was the impetus for us to pull up the chart on this old KEDM inflection. More on this soon…
