CEO Turnover Monitor: The CFO has replaced the CEO at the water pipe distributor Core and Main (CNM), effective immediately. This has been a laggard since PVC pricing broke down and Trump’s election took the wind out of infrastructure spend but is worth keeping an eye on should his administration decide that infrastructure is still something worth having.
13D and Activist Monitor:FT reports that activist Elliott takes 5% stake in German Energy group RWE. One of EU’s largest power producer, (and a name Le Shrub mentioned on our Happy Hour) RWE has been vocal on cutting Offshore Wind and other renewable investments, and thinks could save $10bn in CAPEX. Elliott initially took a stake last year in November, and we will likely hear more about their engagement with the company.
